Erik ten Hag wants to give Alejandro Garnacho a more prominent role next season
According to the Mirror, Erik ten Hag has conveyed to his staff that he plans to give Manchester United wonderkid Alejandro Garnacho a prominent role in the first team next season.
Garnacho joined Manchester United from Atletico Madrid in 2020 and has since then gone on to do wonders with the youth team at Old Trafford in these two years. The talented winger made his first-team debut towards the end of the current season.
The 17-year-old winger has played 34 times for the Manchester United U-18 team this season scoring 14 goals and providing six assists across all competitions. Such numbers have earned the teenage starlet a lot of praise.
It has now emerged that ten Hag wants to give the talented winger a prominent role in the first team next season and it is very evident that the Dutch tactician trusts him.
The ten Hag effect?
Erik ten Hag is no stranger to involving a young player in his mix and making him an integral part of the team and Alejandro Garnacho could be the next in line of a long list of players.
The 17-year-old, although predominantly a left-winger, can play on the right side as well and this could be a plus for the Argentinian starlet. Anyone who has seen Garnacho play knows that he has a great eye for goal, especially at his age.
The Red Devils have a lot of young talented wingers in their ranks like Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo and Garnacho is yet another solid addition to that list. Whilst the other two players have been forced to prove their worth on loan moves away from the club, the story could be different for the former Spain youth international.
The presence of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga means that the Man Utd wonderkid will definitely not have it easy to get into the team on a regular basis. He will have to make the most of the limited opportunities he will get next season.
