Manchester United confident about Alejandro Garnacho contract extension amidst Juventus interest
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are confident about finalising a contract extension for Alejandro Garnacho amidst interest from Juventus for a potential move. He was recently involved in action for the U20 Argentine youth set-up and has arguably been the standout performer for his side.
Garnacho had enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Man United last season, having already impressed at the youth level. He was a part of his side’s run to winning the Youth Cup title, and it looks like he is set to be rewarded with a new contract. However, his glowing performances have seen him get linked with a move to Turin, which did raise some concerns.
Fortunately, the 17-year-old is set to pen a new deal, with negotiations advancing smoothly at this point. That has made the Red Devils optimistic about their attempt to secure his long-term future at Old Trafford. Named the club’s U18 Player of the Year, Garnacho is also in line to be part of the pre-season with the first team set up under Erik ten Hag.
What great news!
Since joining us from Atletico Madrid back in 2020, Garnacho has been on a gradual rise to the top, which has quickly made him a favourite among the supporters. Losing him would have been a damning blow indeed, especially to Juve, as they did prise away Paul Pogba from us in the past.
The Argentine forward had made 51 appearances in different youth levels last season, scoring an impressive 22 goals and assisting ten times in the process across all competitions. Losing a highly-rated talent like him would have seriously risked the wrath of the fans, but that seems out of the picture based on this news.
MEN gave another positive update by denying claims that the South American’s contract would expire at the end of the next campaign. In fact, they stated that he is tied down for three more years which certainly gives the Mancunians complete control over his future.

Now, the hierarchy must do their best to wrap up the renewal talks at the earliest and secure his long-term future at Manchester. After all, prospects like Garnacho would go a long way to help us revive this club from our current plight in the coming years.
As for Garnacho himself, the fans are hoping to see him play a major role in the upcoming pre-season to increase his chances of having a greater involvement in the first-team set-up. Whether that will happen under ten Hag or not, though, would need to be seen in the coming weeks.
