Manchester United target Milan Skriniar wants to stay at Inter Milan
Manchester United target Milan Skriniar has conveyed that he is happy at Inter Milan and wants to stay with them past this summer. His future at Giuseppe Meazza has been uncertain over the past few months, but that has come to an end as a result of his latest revelation.
Skriniar is nearing the last year of his current deal with Inter, which has seen him get linked with a move elsewhere. A switch to the Premier League has been touted, with Man United interested in signing him. Tottenham Hotspur are also in the fray, but both of them may not get a chance to convince him after all.
Speaking in an interview with Pravda as quoted by The Express, the Slovakian has expressed that he sees himself being with the Nerazzurri moving forward. The centre-back also shut down talks surrounding his future as he is content with his life in Italy.
“My future is at Inter. I have a contract and nothing has changed. The transfer rumours come out every six months, every year. But there’s nothing specific – I’m satisfied with Inter.”
Transfer blow for Man Utd
Now that the Red Devils have received a clear message from the player himself, they should not waste their time by continuing to pursue him anymore. Keeping an eye on the situation is the utmost that they should do to see if there are any changes in his stance during the summer transfer window.
However, this admission should be an indication that we must divert our attention to other targets. Erik ten Hag is looking to facilitate an overhaul in the squad with plans being laid down to bolster the defence. However, he would need to do that without Skriniar, who has been a long term target for the Mancunians.
Skriniar would have done wonders to our backline by solidifying our leaking defence with his immense leadership skills that helped his side to become title challengers once again in recent years. However, the Serie A club is keen to renew his contract and is ready to offer £4.25million a year to help with their case.
Since the 27-year-old and Simone Inzaghi’s side have similar intentions, the chances of reaching an agreement are likely unless there is a disagreement on the terms involved in a new deal. However, it would not be wise for us to wait and see whether such an outcome would take place in the future.

Time is of the essence as we need to bring in quality signings at the earliest so that they can adapt to ten Hag’s needs before the next campaign. We have been linked with the likes of Ajax star Jurrien Timber and Braga ace David Carmo recently so it appears that the club have other alternatives as well on their shortlist.
The fans would hope that the board can assist ten Hag by providing him with the right tools to help with the rebuild this summer. That means bolstering the struggling backline with quality signings so let’s hope to see that happen soon enough.
