Brentford look to scupper Manchester United transfer plans for Norwich City star Max Aarons

According to The Sun, Brentford are setting things up to pip Manchester United and sign Norwich City star Max Aarons in the summer transfer window. He has been linked with an exit from Carrow Road after his team were relegated to the Championship following a disappointing season.

The Bees are planning to bolster their wing-back positions ahead of the next campaign. Thomas Frank has prioritised reinforcing that role which has prompted his side to target Aarons this summer. They have added the full-back to their shortlist and would try to prise him away to strengthen their ranks.

Man United would be dealt a blow from this newfound competitor as they have been touted as one of the potential destinations for the U21 England international. He is set to be subjected to receiving interest from elsewhere now that Norwich are forced to deal with the effects of relegation.

Aarons- what Man Utd need right now?

Despite being just 22-years of age, Aarons has earned more than enough experience with the Canaries, having been a regular for them over the past few campaigns. Furthermore, he has also seamlessly adapted to the challenges of the Premier League when Norwich have been in the English top flight.

Now that Dean Smith’s side will play in the Championship next season, Aarons has an opportunity to move elsewhere and continue his progress. After all, playing in the second division would do him no good when his level is suited to the PL, looking at his fine displays.

The Red Devils could use someone like the Norwich defender in their ranks ahead of the next campaign. After all, Aaron Wan-Bissaka could leave Old Trafford this summer with the club waiting to receive proposals for his signature. His departure would open up a spot in the team, which is where Aarons could come in and fight for a role.

While Diogo Dalot has done quite well for us, perhaps competition could help him reach newer heights and improve his overall game. Signing Aarons could lead to a healthy atmosphere in such a case as two right-backs who are hungry to succeed would do us good moving forward.

Even if Wan-Bissaka stays, it remains to be seen if he is trusted by Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman could have new ideas and his own preference of players that he wants in his system. If Aarons meets that criteria, there is no reason why the Red Devils shouldn’t try their hand at signing him.

However, since Frank’s team has joined the race, we must keep an eye out for them as they have a knack for signing young prospects who possess the qualities needed to become a future superstar. Let’s hope that the board would remain on their toes at all times and beat off their interest in completing a move for Aarons.
