Manchester United get transfer boost as Wolves plan for life after Ruben Neves
According to The Sun, Manchester United have received a transfer boost in their pursuit of Ruben Neves as Wolves are planning for life after their star player. He seems in line to leave Molineux at the end of this season, paving the way for a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.
Neves strongly hinted at an exit after the final game of the campaign against Liverpool that he could be finally looking to achieve his “dreams”, indicating that he has some plans in his mind. Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to tie down Morgan Gibbs-White to deal with the departure that could take place this summer.
The Wanderers have proposed a lucrative new offer to renew Gibbs-White’s contract as they look to cope with Neves’ potential exit. Man United would be delighted to know this update as they could have a shot at signing the latter, although they would face competition from Arsenal and Barcelona.
Man Utd to sign Neves this summer?
This update, coupled with Neves’ words following the match against Jurgen Klopp’s side, could indicate that he could be looking for a fresh challenge after this term. The Red Devils must take advantage of this opportunity and make a case for themselves with the holding midfielder as soon as possible.
After all, we would only have Fred and Scott McTominay as our options at the base of the midfield this summer. Both of them would not instil much confidence within the fanbase, considering how their pairing has often caused us issues like lack of control, for example, during matches.
Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba will leave at the end of this season which has considerably reduced our options for the double pivot system. Neves could be one of those solutions to our problems, and he would be a great addition as well, having earned vast amounts of Premier League experience.
Furthermore, Neves has been a key player for Bruno Lage’s side in recent years and has been one of the best in his positions for that very reason. Adding him to our squad would greatly boost our midfield’s quality if we can also bring in our other targets like Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, for example.

However, our primary concern regarding the pursuit to sign Neves is that he appears set to move to Camp Nou after the current campaign. That is quite problematic indeed, but we must do our best to convince the 25-year-old to change his stance to back Erik ten Hag. Let’s wait and see whether we would succeed in that attempt or not moving forward.
