Manchester United transfer target Serge Gnabry ready to leave Bayern Munich
According to the German news outlet Sport1 (h/t The Sun), Manchester United transfer target Serge Gnabry is willing to leave Bayern Munich to return to the Premier League in the future. This update could be a great piece of news for the English club if there are active plans to sign him moving forward.
Gnabry is in line to enter the final year of his current contract, having rejected a new deal from Bayern Munchen. His future at Allianz Arena is up in the air right now, and a return to England could be on the cards. Man United would be delighted to know his current stance, although they will face competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool as well.
However, the Red Devils have some other concerns to deal with as well, considering how Real Madrid joined the transfer race. The latter had lost out on Kylian Mbappe recently and could decide to target Gnabry, with the German international also willing to entertain approaches from the Spanish club.
Gnabry, a part of Man Utd rebuild?
The right-wing is an area that we are desperate to bolster in the summer transfer window. After all, we do not have any natural options who can be a starter at this moment. We are looking to start a new project under Erik ten Hag making it important for a world-class replacement to be signed.
Jadon Sancho’s best displays have come on the left-wing, so moving him to the opposite end is not wise. Marcus Rashford has often disappointed with his displays, and he is more suited to play as a lone striker or on the left-hand side of the attack. Mason Greenwood is suspended, while Anthony Elanga has some ways to go before becoming a regular.
Hence, Gnabry can be deemed a necessity, and he would undoubtedly be a great signing looking at his output this season. After all, 17 goals and ten assists from 45 appearances are just what we need to support Cristiano Ronaldo, who has lacked support in the front line most of the time.
The added competition from Carlo Ancelotti’s side does not help us with our pursuit to sign Gnabry. Fortunately, even if they could meet the 26-year-old to discuss a move soon, talks have not begun so far.

That could give us some leeway to convince the Bundesliga superstar to join us, although one could say that we are dead last in pursuit when compared to the current situation of the other interested parties.
Then again, the fans are hoping that the prospect of being one of the new faces to facilitate a rebuild at a historic club like ours would be enough to convince Gnabry regarding a move. Whether that will be the case or not, though, would need to be seen.
