Manchester United dealt transfer blow as Harry Kane issues major Tottenham Hotspur hint

Manchester United have been dealt a blow as Harry Kane has strongly suggested that he could stay at Tottenham Hotspur past this summer transfer window. His future has been up in the air for a while, but the uncertainty could be coming to an end following this latest revelation.

Kane was involved in a transfer saga last summer as he failed to move to Manchester City despite his intention for an exit. Man City have now signed Erling Haaland, which ended the chance for a potential return leaving Man United as the only interested party in this transfer race as of now.

Speaking in an interview with Evening Standard, the England skipper has expressed that he is looking forward to working with Antonio Conte in the next season. That heavily hints at Kane staying at N17 past this summer which could deal a damning blow for the Red Devils.

“I think the improvement has definitely been there since the gaffer came in to where we are now. It shows it can be done in a short space of time, but obviously, we will see what happens over the summer and look forward to the next season with a great manager.”

Should Man Utd end their pursuit?

That being said, the Manchester side could be handed a lifeline if Conte departs at the end of this season. His future is far from certain as well, and his potential exit could pave the way for Kane’s departure in the summer transfer window.

“I have no idea [about Conte’s future] to be honest, that is his decision. I have said I am a big fan of his and we get on really well so, of course, it would be great for the club if he stays. But like I have said that is his decision, he’s his own man, and I’m sure he will talk to the club and decide on his future.”

It is pretty clear how the Mancunians are setting things up for a massive rebuild, with Erik ten Hag being in line to take over the managerial role after this term. Even if Kane is close to entering the twilight of his playing career, he could still offer a lot to us, especially in this modern football world where players have extended their span in the top flight.

Hence, signing Kane would massively boost our stagnated attack as we look to regain our lost glory. However, for that to happen, it seems that we need to see Conte leaving this summer but whether that will happen or not will only be known in due time.

Then again, prising away the 29-year-old attacker would not be easy considering how he still has two years left in his current contract. That still gives the North London club some control over his future which could be problematic, especially if they demand an outrageous sum to keep hold of their star man.

That would not suit our present needs as there are quite a lot of areas and problems that need to be addressed this summer. Hence, the management must be careful with their interest and only target Kane if it would not compromise their budget in other areas.

Let’s wait and see how this situation will develop in the coming months ahead of the next season. Whether Kane would be a target or not and if he would be feasible too remains to be seen in the coming months.
