Manchester United target Arnaut Danjuma will see his release clause go active this summer
According to the Spanish outlet Marca (h/t The Sun), Manchester United target Arnaut Danjuma will see his release clause activate in the summer transfer window. He has enjoyed quite a successful campaign so far, which has put him on the shortlist of some of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Danjuma has attracted attention from several clubs in the Premier League ahead of a potential summer move. Man United are interested in signing him, and they have even scouted him for that reason. Liverpool and Newcastle United are also in the fray for the Dutchman’s signature.
The Red Devils have now been handed a boost after it is revealed that the Dutchman’s release clause will be active after this term. As such, interested parties could sign him for £45million without directly engaging in talks with Villarreal. Whether anyone would move for him following this update or not remains to be seen.
Summer signing for Man Utd?
There is a clear need to bring in an attacking reinforcement at the end of this season. The options at Old Trafford do not instil confidence going into the next campaign if no changes are made. The 25-year-old has mostly been used as a striker this term, making him an attractive prospect indeed.
After all, we are set to lose Edinson Cavani for free this summer. He has largely struggled throughout this season, so there is no reason to renew him moving forward. As for Cristiano Ronaldo, he does not have many years left in his playing career, and his minutes must be properly managed in the future.
Our other options, like Marcus Rashford, have been disappointing, while there are question marks over Anthony Martial’s future when he returns from his loan spell with Sevilla. Finally, Mason Greenwood is indefinitely suspended, making it even more necessary for the Mancunians to target Danjuma.
The La Liga forward has been in splendid form this campaign, scoring 16 goals and assisting four times from 34 matches across all competitions. He has taken his game to newer heights under Unai Emery and could be a great signing indeed for the Red Devils.

The presence of the release clause is of great benefit as we only have to deal directly with the player. There is also no risk of a bidding war if we are willing to meet the option. The sum certainly seems reasonable looking at his performances this season.
However, with Jurgen Klopp’s side and Newcastle being in the mix, things definitely would not be easy for the Manchester club. That is especially the case when it is touted that the Yellow Submarines attacker could stay within Spain and join one of the top English clubs instead.
