Harry Kane set to snub Manchester United and stay at Tottenham Hotspur next summer
According to The Mirror, Manchester United are set to receive a transfer blow in their pursuit of striker Harry Kane, with the forward planning to continue his playing career with Tottenham Hotspur beyond the summer.
The England skipper is one the hottest properties in the Premier League, with the player always amongst the goals for Spurs and becoming their talisman ever since making his senior debut for his boyhood club.
The striker has grown in stature over the past few years, performing not just at the club level but also for his country, as he has transformed into a goal machine for his teams. Given how poor United’s attackers have been this term, it is easy to see why they were looking to sign Kane in the summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, and Marcus Rashford have been in poor form this term, looking short of form and confidence as the forwards look to have misplaced their scoring boots. Remarkably, the trio have had a massive downturn in form altogether this campaign.

The summer is expected to bring in a new era at Old Trafford, as Erik ten Hag is being roped in as the new manager by the club. The Dutchman has made Kane his top striker target to bolster the current squad, and United have been courting Kane for months. However, the 28-year-old has snubbed a move to the Manchester side and looks likely to stay in north London. He will now reassess his future after the summer.
It is said that if the English giants had appointed former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino over ten Hag as the new manager, then they might have been able to tempt Kane to join them as they remain very close from their days working together at Spurs. In fact, even if the Red Devils had missed out on the Champions League next term, hiring the incumbent Paris Saint-Germain boss might have given them a genuine chance of landing the England international.
United are in sore need of a target man like Kane at the moment, with their current strikers either unable to increase the team’s slender lead or break down stubborn opposition defences, which has seen the club drop precious points in the Premier League table.
As a result, the Manchester side sits seventh in the table while Tottenham are in the fourth position, buoyed by their talisman’s fantastic displays on the pitch. Under Antonio Conte, he has proven that he is not just an effective goalscorer but also a brilliant playmaker, stringing together passes for his other forwards to shine.

Despite strong interest from United, Kane is intent on staying in order to beat Tottenham’s goalscoring record, remain a club legend, and win trophies under Conte. The Italian’s arrival last year has brought belief to N17 that they have a genuine chance of being competitive, and a full season under the former Chelsea manager could do wonders if the players follow his instructions.
These reasons have convinced Kane that he wants to remain with the Lilywhites and, even though he will have just two years left on his deal this summer, it now seems highly unlikely he will be leaving.
