PSG make an offer to Paul Pogba ahead of Manchester United exit
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been made a transfer offer by PSG to join them next season, with the player’s current deal at Old Trafford expiring in the summer.
The Frenchman has not yet signed a new contract at the club, as he runs down his deal with the Red Devils which would make him a free agent at the end of the campaign. Into the last six months of his contract in Manchester, the star is free to talk to foreign clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement.
Paris Saint-Germain seems to have taken advantage of the situation, offering the 29-year-old contract terms that are understood to be lower than the final package that Man United offered Pogba to stay put at the club. Thus far, there have been no updates given on his future by either the English side or the player.
The World Cup winner returned to the Theatre of Dreams in 2016, after having departed for Juventus in 2012 as an exciting teenage prospect. After winning four consecutive Scudetto titles in Italy, the midfield star made a return to England for a then world-record fee.
Effectively gone from United
Given his prior connection with the Bianconeri, the Carrington graduate would prefer a return to Juventus but is said to be open to joining PSG in the summer. Dressing room sources believe that Pogba is effectively ‘gone’, as the club have been planning for his departure for most of the season.
Furthermore, his family and lifestyle choices are critical to where the player ends up beyond the summer as his eldest son is due to start school next year and his wife works in design in Cheshire. These factors are sure to play a telling part in his destination next season.
Man United fans will be split over the potential departure of Pogba at the end of the season. While some will feel that his return to Old Trafford has been underwhelming thus far, others would argue that we are losing a highly talented player for free.
Whatever the opinion, there is no doubt that the France international makes our team better when he is on the pitch. His eye for a pass and ability to hold on to the ball with his physicality are great assets, which we look resigned to losing in the summer.

Although Pogba has been open about his desire to leave the Red Devils, teammates have respected his professionalism and Pogba remains a popular figure at Carrington. If he departs, then he will go with fond memories of his teammates and his five years at the club.
It remains to be seen whether he will accept the offer put forward by PSG, but until then, his focus should be on helping Man United finish the season strongly by securing a Champions League qualification spot by the end of the campaign. Currently, in seventh place, there is much work that needs to be done to achieve this aim.
