Premier League duo in touch with Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as his contract runs down
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been contacted by two Premier League clubs as his current contract with his side runs down in the summer.
Pogba moved back to United in 2016 after four successful years away in Turin, winning multiple league titles, cup competitions, and also making it to the UEFA Champions League final in 2015.
His second spell at Old Trafford has not been as successful, with the Frenchman only winning the UEFA Europa League and the League Cup in his first season back in Manchester. Since then, both he and the club have gone trophyless.
Into the final few months of his Man United contract, Pogba is free to speak to foreign clubs and sign a pre-contract agreement with suitors. However, the Frenchman has not made any express comments about departing the club in the summer just yet.
Offers to stay in the PL
After enduring a five-year trophy drought, the Theatre of Dreams is set to welcome a new permanent manager ahead of the new season. The identity of the next manager is surely one of the big factors that Pogba will take into consideration before making a final decision on his future.
Despite this, it is said that two unnamed Premier League clubs have been in touch with the France international’s camp although no official offers have been made yet. There has been no new contract offer from the Red Devils’ since last summer and if they are looking to keep him, then they will need to accelerate their efforts.
The World Cup winner’s second spell with the club has not gone according to plan, despite a great first season back at Old Trafford. Performances have been varied and drawn mixed reviews, while at other times, the midfielder has gone missing completely.
Fred, Scott McTominay, and Nemanja Matic make up the other midfield options in the first team, and there is no doubt that the Frenchman stands heads and shoulders above these players in terms of ability and talent. Despite this, he has not been able to stamp his authority on the pitch.

Pogba has also garnered attention and interest from outside the UK, with a number of European clubs – including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus in contact with the player’s representatives regarding a free transfer at the end of the season.
Evidently, there is enough interest from other sides, both in and outside the Premier League, that want the 29-year-old. We are a better team with the midfielder in the side, but if the player is not keen on extending his stay, then it may be time to cut ties with the French star once again.
