Fabrizio Romano gives Paul Pogba update on his Manchester United future amid Paris Saint-Germain links
According to football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Manchester United star Paul Pogba has thrown his future at the club up in the air by refusing to commit to the team amid links to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Frenchman is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of the season, which means that he is set to leave Manchester as a free agent in the summer after returning to United in 2016 from Juventus for a second spell in England.
Romano quoted Pogba speaking to Le Figaro via Hadrien Grenier, opening up a possible move to PSG next term by saying that it was always nice to play with teammates in the national team as well as at the club level.
PSG currently have Kylian Mbappe and Presnel Kimpembe in the squad who are regulars for the France national team. Interestingly, Pogba also has a teammate in Raphael Varane at United who plays with him in the national setup.
“To win trophies”
The World Cup winner spent time away from the UK by plying his trade in Italy with Juventus from 2012 to 2016, where he had an incredibly successful career. The player won four successive league titles, while also making it to the UEFA Champions League final. However, his return to the Theatre of Dreams has not been as rewarding.
Romano quoted Pogba who said that he doesn’t know whether it will be with United or another club, but his main priority at the moment is to win trophies. Thus far, Pogba has only been able to pick up a League Cup and UEFA Europa League in England, way back in his second debut season at the club.
“I don’t know if it’s gonna be with Man Utd or another club but what I want is to win trophies”.
Pogba’s return to United has not been what fans expected from a player that was a revelation with Juventus in Serie A. The France international was one of the most creative midfielders in the league while in Turin, but he has failed to replicate his form in Manchester.
Even while on national duty with France, the 29-year-old looks a different beast to the one while representing his club, putting in far more assuring performances on the pitch for Les Bleus which will have irked some Red Devils fans.

The ex-Juve star was last seen turning up for United in the Champions League loss to Atletico Madrid in the second leg of the Round of 16 tie, coming on as a second-half substitute to try and find a winner for his side. However, he would see his team crash out of the UCL, ending their hopes for a trophy this season.
If this indeed turns out to be Pogba’s swansong campaign at the club, then the academy product will leave after going trophyless in nearly five years in England. If so, we will need to find a midfield replacement for the star, and ensure that his presence on the pitch is not sorely missed.
