Manchester United set to make fresh transfer swoop for Juventus star Paulo Dybala this summer
According to Italian paper Corriere dello Sport (h/t The Sun), Juventus are nowhere close to sealing a contract renewal for Paulo Dybala this season, paving the way for Manchester United to sign the player.
Dybala moved to Juventus in 2015 after impressing at Palermo in Italy, and since then, the forward has grown into one of their best goalscoring outlets in Serie A. However, the player could be set for a departure in the summer when his current deal with the Old Lady expires.
With United exploring potential forward options ahead of the new campaign, the Argentinean has been identified as an attractive transfer target, given that he is available for free at the end of the current season.
Despite suffering multiple muscular issues this term, Dybala has still been able to contribute to 12 goals and 6 assists in 27 appearances for Juventus. These are numbers that are missing from a majority of Man United’s current crop of forwards, emphasising the need for an attacker next season.
Man United renew interest
Despite the Serie A giants keen on tying down one of their best players to a few more years in Italy, the chances of Juventus convincing Dybala to renew his contract are said to have significantly reduced. This news only paves the way for the Red Devils to pursue the attacker in the summer, having previously tried to snap him up.
Three years ago, the Old Trafford side were expected to seal a deal for the Argentina international, with Dybala even recording a tearful goodbye message for teammates at Juventus. However, the move fell through, much to the Bianconeri’s delight.
The failed transfer move has proven detrimental for the Red Devils, with the club not having an established and reliable striker in recent years to provide the goals. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial have fallen off the trail in the past few seasons, with the former now a bench warmer and the latter is out on loan at Sevilla.
Currently, the Red Devils have had to make do with Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani upfront. Despite being world-class forwards, age is not on their side, with both players over 35. It is not known how long either player will last in Manchester.

Mason Greenwood’s suspension has also opened the door for a new attacker to take the place in the starting XI at Old Trafford and lead the line for a team that is desperate for someone to keep the goals coming. Dybala may prove to be the solution for United’s problems this term if we manage to snap him up in the summer.
At 28, he is entering the prime years of his playing career, and given the fact that he could be available for free, it would be a no-brainer to sign a supremely talented and proven international to take up the scoring mantle for us for the next few years.
