Some fans react as Manchester City convincingly beat Manchester United
Manchester City have beaten Manchester United by a 4-1 scoreline in the derby match that took place at Etihad Stadium. The latter has lost the foothold in the top four race in the Premier League as a result since Arsenal won 3-2 against Watford earlier in the matchday.
Man City were the clear favourites coming into this match, which was seen on the pitch in their performance today. That being said, the Red Devils did put up a fight in the first half as it was end to end stuff throughout the first 45 minutes. Pep Guardiola’s side were the dominant force despite that as they constantly created chances, unlike Man United, who failed to create opportunities from the good build-up play they had enjoyed.
The Citizens took control early in the game as Kevin de Bruyne scored after Bernardo Silva set up with a cut-back inside the first five minutes. Ralf Rangnick’s team scored the leveller through Jadon Sancho as he scored a beauty after beating Kyle Walker and Rodri before Paul Pogba put him into the spot with a wonderful ball.
The visitors looked to be in contention to get a good result after Sancho’s goal in the 22nd minute. However, De Bruyne spoiled their plans, having scored his second of the match just before the half-hour mark. His side kept cutting through the opposition defence but failed to add more goals in the end.
Disastrous second-half
Rangnick’s side had another opportunity to level the scoring, but they failed to find Sancho quickly enough as he blasted the ball over the ball in a short space. However, things took a turn for the worse for them in the second half as the hosts dominated them throughout the final 45 minutes. They failed to create many more opportunities as City grew in power as the game went on.
Riyad Mahrez eventually volleyed a striker into the goal as it slightly deflected past Harry Maguire to take it away from David de Gea. That made the scoreline 3-1 in the 68th minute of the match. Mahrez scored another one late in the game as his side thoroughly were the dominant force towards the latter stages of the league fixture.
We now sit fifth in the league table with 47 points to our name from 27 matches. The Gunners, on the other hand, are in a comfortable position leading us by a point, having played two fewer games. Here are how some fans reacted to the disappointing defeat on the night.

The players don’t deserve to be in the Red shirt at all. No heart, no desire, no passion.

Manchester United’s defeat to Man City was very predictable cos City is of a higher class right now; Ronaldo’s absence also weakened the squad but nonetheless, Utd tried. The players are gradually improving cos this is better than the 5-0 defeat to Liverpool. Best of luck to Utd.

Sir Alex Ferguson has witnessed us being embarrassed 5-0 at home against Liverpool, and 4-1 away at Manchester City.

Both of our biggest rivals have humbled us this season, he’s probably thinking about how far we’ve fallen since he retired.

If you’re a serious, ambitious player would you seriously think of coming to Manchester United? This is a club nowadays where actual winners are extremely scrutinized and disrespected. This club is so far behind it’s actually unreal. This game just proves it again. Reality check!
