Ralf Rangnick details rotation plans for Manchester United with Brighton clash up next
Ralf Rangnick has detailed the plans for rotation as Manchester United prepare for battle against Brighton and Hove Albion in their Premier League fixture later today. His team would be looking to put an end to their poor run of results by securing all three points on the night.
Man United will be facing off against Brighton, Leeds United, Atletico Madrid and Watford in quick succession in the days to come. Rangnick will need to utilise the entire squad depth to see out the congested fixture list.
Speaking in a pre-match exclusive interview with the club’s media (h/t Manchester United official website), Rangnick has admitted that he would try to use the squad players more often, even in challenging fixtures, to deal with fatigue. He was honest about the need for change in certain positions while conveying that he is happy for having more than one choice in different roles.
“Yes, it’s possible that we need to rotate, maybe even for tomorrow’s game. In some positions, we could do with some fresh legs, some fresh energy. We have the next game coming up at Leeds, another intense away game, and then in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid and then Watford. We have quite a few games coming up, every three or four days, and that’s why it’s good for me as manager that I have enough players, two players for each position, in order to give some players a rest and others a chance to perform.”
Man management
Some may be concerned by the boss’ admission as we have been on a poor run of form despite using a near full-strength team more often than not. However, football is far from being so straightforward to view through a single perspective. A lineup with the right balance would go a long way in maintaining healthy morale within the team while also delivering the required results.
Rotations will not only keep the entire squad fresh but also help the fringe players get match sharp for the challenging games we will face in March. After all, we cannot just put them into such clashes when needed without being in their groove to face off against strong opponents.

While we do have some injury concerns for the match today, it will be interesting to see how the boss would rotate the squad. At the same time, he must be wary about featuring a team only to freshen things up as it could also lead to our downfall.
The 63-year-old coach would need to create a balance between a strong lineup while also using players who have not been featuring regularly. It remains to be seen how the starting lineup for the match against the Seagulls would be when it would be released in the next few hours.
