Cristiano Ronaldo at odds with Ralf Rangnick following recent Manchester United slump

According to the Spanish media outlet AS (h/t The Express), Cristiano Ronaldo does not think highly of Ralf Rangnick as a result of the slump Manchester United have suffered recently. They have undergone a three-match winless run, which has seen them crash out of the FA Cup while losing ground in the Premier League top-four race.

Man United were knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough in the fourth round while they have also dropped two points in the race to have a top-four finish this term. Ronaldo has also suffered in these times as he is currently on a six-match goal drought. That is his worst run in 13 years which does not bode well for him or the team.

The relationship between Cristiano and Rangnick is claimed to be “fractured” at this instant. The striker thinks that the interim boss is not up to the expectations at Old Trafford is also displeased with the boss’ comments recently regarding his struggles in front of goal.

At a crossroad?

When such claims are made, it is highly advisable to take it with a pinch of salt before we get confirmations from more reliable sources. After all, feeding such a piece of information would just create negativity within the fanbase. However, we still can form our own opinions on the issue.

If this news is believed to be true, then one of the reasons for the 37-year-old’s feelings could arguably be down to his poor form. At least under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he was in on the goal involvement tally, unlike the current state. The matters are made worse as the team is struggling to finish off chances, which goes in line with his underperformance.

However, it is good to know that the Portuguese superstar has no plans of leaving us in the future. That is further highlighted by Cristiano Ronaldo Jr’s recent admission to the club academy. That being said, the veteran is looking forward to the end of the season as it could bring in a fresh change by putting an end to the managerial uncertainty.

However, blaming the German coach would be peculiar in this case when we have generated chances that could have been put away in the past three games. Not just that, as there were also questionable refereeing decisions that went against us during this slump.

More Manchester United News

We have also played some of our best football in the first half of these games, indicating that the players are the one’s who are responsible for the failure to sustain the same levels of performance throughout the tie. The players, including Ronaldo, could easily have scored more had they taken their chances. So it is puzzling, to say the least, why he has any issue with the boss even though he is the one responsible for his own struggles.

However, this information should be taken lightly due to the nature of its writing. As such, let’s wait and see if we get more updates regarding this case moving forward.
