Transfer News: Manchester United battle Arsenal and Atletico Madrid for Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara

According to Le10Sport, Manchester United will face off against Arsenal and Atletico Madrid to sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara in the summer transfer window. He has seen himself become a target for quite a lot of clubs at the end of the season due to his current contract situation.

Kamara has entered the final five months of his current deal and could legally reach a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs. There is a belief that the defensive midfielder would not agree to a renewal since he had tried to move last month. Man United, Atletico and the Gunners are all alerted to the situation with a move in mind next summer.

Newcastle United have shown an interest in the 22-year-old, although AC Milan are no longer in pursuit of his services, according to Calciomercato.com via Le10Sport. A move to the Premier League is seemingly close to being in fruition despite the interest from Atleti.

Can’t afford to lose!

The interest from Diego Simeone’s side and the North London club would probably be the biggest concern due to their current sporting stature. However, since a move to England is being tipped to be the next destination, we can further drive that down to just Mikel Arteta’s team.

Newcastle cannot be overlooked despite their relegation-threatened situation as they have already proven it by making quality signings in January. But if they do end up getting dropped down to the Championship, we could be boosted in our attempt to get the signature of the Frenchman.

Milan’s current stance also works in favour, which gives us even more leeway in facilitating a move for the Ligue 1 star next summer. The prospect of signing a man of his quality simply cannot be passed on especially considering our midfield situation. After all, there is a need for additions in the centre of the pitch due to the struggles we have been dealing with since last season.

Nemanja Matic is not getting any youngsters, whereas Fred and Scott McTominay’s qualities on the ball are questionable. Ralf Rangnick has been utilising a 4-3-3 system since the start of this year, which calls for the need for a quality pivot option. The defensive midfielder must be defensively astute while being technically gifted to progress the ball up the field. The Marseille ace fits the bill perfectly, giving us more reasons to get this in the bag as soon as possible.
