Transfer News: Manchester United complete signing of youngster Majid Balogun
Taking to his Twitter account, Majid Balogun confirmed that he had signed a contract with Manchester United. The youngster posted a picture of him posing with the Red Devils jersey on the side and signing his new deal.
Not much is known about Balogun, but it seems like the forward has signed a youth contract with the club’s academy at Carrington. It marks the beginning of a long journey ahead for the starlet, who will look to break into the first team in the coming years.
United’s academy is famed for developing a host of stars, with the famed Class of 92 coming through the ranks and establishing themselves as world-class players, who have won multiple accolades with the club.
The under 14 will hope to follow in their footsteps, and break into the senior side in the future. Promoting youth is in the club’s DNA, and the youngster may benefit from taking the right decision to join a side that has a strong focus on its academy players.
New academy addition
The player is joining United from his former side Lambeth Tigers FC, which announced that the starlet was the first to join the Red Devils from their club. Balogun moves directly from the grassroots level to the academy.
The move appears to be a January signing, with his old club announcing the news on Twitter last month itself. Balogun however, only took to announce the transfer himself yesterday.
On the Lambeth Tigers FC’s Instagram page, the side said that young Balogun saw a host of sides from all over the country battle for his signature in January, but it was United that won in the end.
There clearly seems to be hype around the under 14 player, and United have done well to convince him to sign for them. The kid looks to be an asset for the future, and the Red Devils will be tracking his progress with interest.
