Manchester United still keen on loan transfer for Amad Diallo despite Anthony Martial exit

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are still keen on facilitating a loan transfer for Amad Diallo despite Anthony Martial’s exit from Old Trafford. He has not yet broken into the first-team set-up and could be in line to head out in search of an environment where he can earn consistent minutes.

Man United are putting in the efforts in search of clubs who would be willing to take Amad on loan before the January transfer window closes. Their stance was not altered by the recent departure of Martial to Sevilla, where he would be on loan for the rest of this campaign.

The Red Devils would not change their decision even if Jesse Lingard follows suit and joins Newcastle United in the coming days. Although, there are concerns about the deal with Newcastle collapsing just ahead of the deadline date. Since there are not many days left this month, it will be interesting to see what lies in store for the youngster in the coming days.

Wise choice?

The 19-year-old joined us for a huge fee of £37million almost a year ago, but he has not shown any signs of providing an output that would match that transfer fee. If we do not have a situation where he can earn enough game time to develop as a player, it would be best on our part to find a club elsewhere for him.

We are boosted by the interest from Feyenoord and some other clubs in the Championship and Italy, who are vying to gain hold of the Ivorian. The Dutch club tried to get him before this season, but he endured an unfortunate injury which eventually led to the deal breaking down.

Derby Country, managed by club legend Wayne Rooney, had expressed their interest in signing the Red Devils starlet, but a move could not materialise due to their financially stricken situation. Nevertheless, the board would need to work overtime since time is against them if they want to temporarily offload the ex-Atalanta starlet.

Because of Anthony Elanga’s recent breakthrough and the possibility of Lingard staying with us, it is good that the Manchester club is looking to part ways with the Ivory Coast international. Let’s hope that they can get this deal done as soon as possible, or else it would hamper his progression if he continues to be on the fringes of first-team action for the next 6 months.

After all, it is important for any young player to hone his skills playing against a tough quality of opposition. Playing for our youth team can only help so much in his development, and a loan move to another top-flight club seems like the best path for his career right now.
