The centre-back is not injured but had his house broken into while he was away with the Red Devils squad at Brentford. intruders broke into the player’s house, forcing his family into hiding. Thankfully nobody was hurt during the incident.
The player learned of the incident after the game against Brentford and is now dealing with it. The club, for their, part are doing their bit to support him and has also urged those with any information on the break in to come forward.
Lindelof’s wife and two children were at home when the incident occurred. Thankfully her quick thinking saw them react to the emergency and lock themselves up in a room. Thankfully it worked and the trio escaped unscathed. She took to Instagram following the incident to provide an update on the situation.
Man United manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that the defender has been afforded time off to tend to his family. Some things are more important than football and for Lindelof, it is essential that his family recovers from the trauma and move on.
A family man, Lindelof’s concern for his family outweighs what he can offer to us on the pitch at the moment. a father and a husband, one can understand why he will not be willing to leave his family alone, especially after what they have gone through. Hopefully, the perpetrators are brought to justice soon.
The Red Devils will be hopeful of coming away from Old Trafford with all three points in the bag. The Hammers under David Moyes are in the running for a top-four finish and the matchup will be a direct confrontation between two rivals vying for the same thing.
Securing three points on the night will help the Red Devils not just boost their own chances of a top-four finish but also dent the Hammers’. In effect, it is killing two birds with one stone.
