He was later loaned to Bordeaux and Montpellier. He played a crucial role in Montpellier’s French Cup triumph and proved his worth which obliged Marseille to call him back. Despite winning the French Division 1 title with Marseille, he was transferred to Nîmes. 

Cantona joined Leeds in 1992. He made 34 appearances for Leeds and bagged 14 goals and five assists. He won the last Football League First Division with Leeds.
