According to The Mirror, Manchester United stars are flirting with tension as they feel that Ralf Rangnick is outdated with his values as a manager. While things have been better than what it was under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it has not always been rosy at Old Trafford.

A source who has close ties to the dressing room has revealed that the general consensus about Rangnick is that he is “outdated and out of his time.” The source further goes on to add that the Man United squad does not think very highly of him- “He is so unpopular, we don’t like him.”

The German manager is set to face Aston Villa tomorrow in the Premier League, where the team would be eager to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League next season. His team faced off against Villa recently in the FA Cup, where they laboured to a 1-0 win.

What’s going on at Man Utd?

There have been many rumblings over the past few weeks, which makes it feel like there is an unhealthy atmosphere within the Red Devils squad. Sure Fred has openly come out and dismissed some of the news where it stated that he and a majority of the players are unhappy at the club.

There have been other times when players like Luke Shaw and Cristiano Ronaldo openly revealed certain things which could hint at the scope of the problems. That is not a good sign, especially when there should be unity within the team due to the current circumstances that the club is going through.

Updates like these would lead to further uncertainty, which does not fill the fans with much confidence. It is not normal for a club or its representatives to come out and address matters like these but sometimes being open about things definitely helps. That was the case when the Brazilain midfielder denied rumours of him being unhappy within the team.

We do hope that this situation resolves itself quickly. Transparency from the club would have definitely helped but, if they do not want to go down that route, they must make sure that there are no opportunities for speculation to arise. The job ahead for Rangnick does not appear to be easy but then it was never supposed to be.
