Cristiano Ronaldo will consider Manchester United future depending upon future manager
Speaking in an interview, as quoted by the Daily Star, a source claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo is considering his future at Manchester United and shall make a decision depending upon the next permanent manager.
The Red Devils brought back the Portuguese legend to Old Trafford in the summer to accomplish their challenge of winning trophies again. Unfortunately, it has been anything but that. The centre-forward has scored 14 goals in 22 games, but things off the pitch have not been all that great.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in November, and things are not clicking under Ralf Rangnick. The striker signed a contract until 2023 but is now considering leaving the club in the summer, depending upon the appointment of the future manager.
Mauricio Pochettino, Brendan Rodgers, and Erik Ten Hag have been linked with the job. Ronaldo has already made it clear that he is not in support of Rangnick becoming the permanent boss, but the German is set to become a Senior Football Advisor at the end of the season. The decision of the next boss shall be taken by Richard Arnold, who is set to replace Ed Woodward as the chief executive of the club.
A source revealed in detail about Ronaldo and his intentions of staying at Man United.
“He thought it would be better than this. He is a born winner and wants to be winning more trophies. so, who the next manager turns out to be will help him decide his next move.”
Huge trouble
It is clear that the Portuguese ace is not happy with the current state of the club. He appeared frustrated for large parts of the game against Newcastle United, Burnley, and Wolves, as he captained the side for the first time in the latter fixture that ended in a 1-0 defeat on Monday.
The 5-time Ballon d’Or winner obviously wishes to continue playing at the top level. But he is currently being scapegoated for issues that persisted at the club even before he arrived. Thus, it is no surprise that he has had enough of it.
The appointment of Pochettino, Ten Hag, or Rodgers could just about change his mind, but there are no certainties. The striker left Juventus this season as he could witness that they are declining. Ronaldo has always played to win, and he expects the clubs he joins to do the same.

Moreover, since he has lived up to his end of the bargain by bailing us out on numerous occasions, it is only fair to offer him a quality coach and a similar squad. If he leaves, we could be up for massive trouble. Then again, it could give us a chance to introspect and make things right again. Regardless, it would be wise to keep our talisman at the club as long as he is at the peak of his powers.
This could even be a blessing for us because it puts some pressure on the club to appoint a manager that can really match the status and standard of Man United as a club. No more experimenting- it’s better to go all out and get in a big name to take care of this team for the long term.
