Transfer Update: Juventus most likely destination for soon to be out-of-contract Manchester United ace Paul Pogba
According to Tuttosport (h/t The Sun), Paul Pogba could end up re-signing for Juventus once his Manchester United contract expires in the summer, and the Turin-based outfit is touted to be his ‘most likely destination’.
The central midfielder has been one of the hottest properties in world football for a while now. He may not dazzle the fans in every single game, but his presence is enough to give us the upper hand in most matches. The club’s creative influx has also taken a hit since he suffered an injury in early November.
But even after he completes a return, the 28-year-old may not have a future at Old Trafford. He is set to be out of contract in the summer, and there has been nothing indicating an extension. Real Madrid and PSG are thought to be two suitors vying for his signature.
However, it has now been suggested that the French international is likely to end up re-signing for Juventus. But any potential deal depends upon the Italian giants offloading two players in the next six months. Pogba spent four glorious seasons in Turin before returning to the Theatre of Dreams in 2016.
Man United destined to lose Pogba?
A return to Italy could bode well for the player since he is already privy to the country and the league. Spanish giants Real Madrid could also procure him to get back to the top of European football. Alternatively, PSG could also offer him the prospect of playing in his home country.
Thus, any potential move is likely to go down well for Pogba. But this then leaves Man United short of a superstar midfielder. For all his inconsistencies and lack of stepping up to the plate on momentous occasions, Pogba is one of those players that can churn something out of nothing.
Few will forget how he inspired a come-back against Man City in the 2017/18 season as the Red Devils delayed their arch-rivals’ title triumph. His role in the road towards the UEFA Europa League final last season cannot be forgotten either. Moreover, he is also one of the very few players to have succeeded under every manager at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman will be allowed to talk to foreign clubs in January. If he agrees to a pre-contract in the next month, he will be leaving us with happy memories. However, until then, he remains one of our very own, and if there is a turnaround in his current form and the club’s intentions of keeping him, one cannot rule out him staying put beyond this season.
