According to Sky Sports, Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is eyeing a Sevilla move due to his need for added game time.

Anthony Martial was the highest-paid teenager when he signed for Manchester United. He has bagged 79 goals and 50 assists in 268 appearances. However, he has fallen from the pecking order at United due to poor performances over the seasons.

This season, the French forward has only made ten appearances and is yet to play a game under the new manager Ralf Rangnick.

Amid such a situation, Martial’s agent said that the former Lyon striker wants to leave United in the winter transfer window. Barcelona and Juventus have been heavily linked with the out of favour forward. But it is believed that the 26-year-old wants to move to Sevilla as he would get higher game time at the Spanish club compared to other teams who have shown interest in him.

Martial enjoyed a successful spell in 2 seasons back and was destined to become a top striker at United. But his rapid fall has been concerning for the Red Devils. United signed Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer to tackle the situation. Even though the Portuguese superstar has proved his worth, Sancho remained quiet in the last few weeks.

Martial’s United exit is almost inevitable. Thus, the Red Devils board should find viable alternatives for the position. Ageing players like Ronaldo and Cavani don’t guarantee a long-term solution; that’s why targeting young forwards in the market would prove more advantageous.

Ronaldo’s time at Juventus has shown that even the individual brilliance of one lethal striker isn’t enough. Signing a potent striker who will be able to provide goals and assists and has a proven track record in Europe should be the priority for United at this moment.
