Transfer News: Juventus keeping tabs on Manchester United star Anthony Martial.

Manchester United could struggle to sell Anthony Martial in January as Atletico Madrid interest proves to be a hoax

According to Jonathan Shrager (h/t Manchester Evening News), the interest from Atletico Madrid for Anthony Martial was a hoax creating trouble for Manchester United as they could struggle to move him out in January. Earlier, he had expressed his desire to leave the club through his agent, who revealed the information to the media.

Atletico were said to have an interest in signing the Frenchman by offering a swap deal to Man United for Kieran Trippier. However, this latest update has put that to bed, which could be troublesome for Man United ahead of the January transfer window. There is a lack of interested parties since it got revealed that he wanted to move due to a lack of minutes.

It would be a worst-case scenario if the Manchester club fails to move Martial on to elsewhere in the winter transfer window. If that happens we could have to suffer more expenses for someone who has no interest to stay at Old Trafford. He would keep earning his relatively massive wages which are not ideal in the current situation.

Move him on!

We should do our best to get the 26-year-old off the wage bill and free up finances to bring in necessary reinforcements. We should also try to get a decent fee for him to add to our transfer budget for supporting our interim coach Ralf Rangnick. At the same time, we would face challenges since the clubs would try to use this situation to negotiate for their maximum benefits.

Since there are not many interests for the France international, a loan option might be the best bet for the Red Devils to try their hands on. However, should that happen, we should not agree to pay a part of his wages to cover the costs for the interested parties.

It is also tough to see a way back for the United forward, having already made his stance clear to the public. Other options are ahead of him in the pecking order, and should we fail to transfer him next month, he could find it even harder to earn minutes.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops in the days to come as we near the January transfer window. It would be best for all parties if the English club parted ways with the French attacker to a team where he would earn regular game time.
