Manchester United interim-boss Ralf Rangnick admits he has not talked to Jurgen Klopp or Thomas Tuchel of late

According to MUTV (h/t The Metro), new Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick has revealed that he is yet to get in touch with Jurgen Klopp or Thomas Tuchel since taking over at the Red Devils.

The 63-year-old replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Red Devils hot seat after the latter was sacked last month. Rangnick will stay on as a manager until the end of the season before taking up a role as a consultant at the club.

He is but the latest of a slew of German managers who look set to take the Premier League by storm. Jurgen Klopp has written his name into the history books with Liverpool while Thomas Tuchel is carving out a nice niche for him at Chelsea.

Rangnick is particularly familiar with the latter who he worked with while at Ulm. Tuchel has made it no secret how Rangnjick influenced his career. Nicknamed the ‘grandfather of gegenpressing’, Rangnick is also attributed to the rise of Southampton boss, Ralph Hasenhuttl.

The 63-year-old has however not gotten in touch with his German compatriots in England since accepting the Man United job. He goes on to add that given his past experience of having lived in England, there was little reason for him to enquire about it from his rivals.

“I don’t need to speak to them about life in England because I lived in England myself some 40 years ago and I’ve been here on and off so I get along well in the country.”

More pressing matters!

Being a manager of a Premier League side is a challenging profession. Given the hectic nature of the jobs and the hours involved, the managers get little rest as it is. Tangnick certainly recognizes this and admits that there is little time among the fraternity to indulge in small talk.

“We are all busy enough in our own jobs and there is not that much time to speak with other coaches.”

Personally, we prefer a manager of Rangnick’s mould who keeps a quiet demeanour and lets his team do the talking for him. Hopefully, he will experience much success at Man United and go on to show both Klopp and Tuchel that the teacher still reigns supreme over the students.
