Ralf Rangnick set to take charge of his first first Manchester United game against Crystal Palace on Sunday
According to the Independent, Ralf Rangnick has received his UK work permit and is eligible to take over the managerial role at Manchester United against Crystal Palace on Sunday in the Premier League.
The 63-year-old was announced as Man United’s interim manager on Monday. However, there was some difficulty with his work permit that prevented him from taking charge of the team immediately. In the meantime, caretaker manager Michael Carrick has been handling managerial work and is set to oversee his third game in charge today against Arsenal.
But, it seems like the inconvenience has finally been sorted out. It is believed that Rangnick has received his work permit and is set to manage his first Premier League game as Man United manager on Sunday against Crystal Palace.
This could be an excellent sign for the Red Devils, who would finally work under the revolutionary manager who has brought success at numerous clubs. While he may not yet be in charge, Rangnick will be keeping a keen eye on the team’s performance from the stands against Arsenal today.
Nicknamed ‘the professor’, the German got his fame for making the ‘Gegenpressing’ technique a success. A high-intensity pressing technique where players aggressively hunt for it after losing the ball rather than regrouping, it has become a standard tactic for some of today’s top coaches.
Furthermore, The German manager has managerial experience of more than three decades. There are few better out there who can be expected to turn us into a juggernaut once again.

The 63-year-old manager could pull United out of their misery. Despite having several world-class players, the Red Devils have failed to make the system work. One could argue that former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær didn’t have much experience of top-flight football before taking the job.
However, the fans desire to regain their identity and the spark that made Old Trafford the ‘theatre of dreams.’ It seems Rangnick could be the one to turn the club’s fortunes around.
