Manchester United player Diogo Dalot has already said ‘yes’ to AS Roma transfer
According to Calcio Mercato (h/t Sportwitness), Manchester United star Diogo Dalot has already agreed to join Italian giants AS Roma. As things stand, the Red Devils now need to come to an agreement with the Italian club.
The Portuguese international returned to Manchester United after completing a loan term with AC Milan last season. While he has had his moments, Dalot is no closer to dethroning Aaron Wan-Bissaka as the club’s first-choice right-back. A parting of the ways could be the best way forward for both parties.
After Jose Mourinho took over the reign at Roma, he has been vocal about the need for quality reinforcements. The Giallorossi has been interested in Dalot and desires to lure him to the Italian capital in January. Looking at the recent reports, it seems Jose’s team is closer to an agreement.
It is believed that Dalot has already given the green light to the arrangements that would take him to Italy. Now, it’s up to the two concerned clubs to reach a final agreement.
It seems the Italian club wants to sign the full-back initially on a loan move with an option to buy. In that case, the Red Devils are looking to add an obligatory purchase clause of around €15m. It is a fair price given Dalot’s age and potential.
Former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not include the Portuguese full-back in the starting eleven for the Premier League games this season. Even caretaker manager Michael Carrick has neglected him. In the two years he spent in United, he has only featured in 42 games. It’d be interesting to see if new interim manager Ralf Rangnick would be interested in testing the young right-back.

However, Roma seems determined to include the full-back in their team. So, the United board should look to exploit Roma’s desperation in order to acquire a hefty sum in case Dalot chose to move away from Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old was among Jose Mourinho’s final signing sat Manchester United. Whether a reunion is on the cards remains to be seen.
