Manchester United supporters react as fans plan a tribute for former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of Arsenal tie
According to the official Twitter handle of ESPN UK, Manchester United fans are plotting a tribute for former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of the game against Arsenal.
The Red Devils parted ways with the Norwegian last week following a spate of poor results. A 4-1 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road spelt the end for Solskjaer at the Theatre of Dreams.
The 48-year-old did, to his credit, stabilize the club to an extent. However, his inability to make a difference when it comes to winning trophies was palatable. In the end, his lack of success in a managerial role cost him at the club where he made a name for himself as a player.
While Solskjaer’s stint did not see us win any trophies, some fans believe he is worthy of a sendoff. Given the nature of his contributions as a player, that is well deserved.
However, as a manager, a tribute of sorts is a little over the top. Ole failed to make the most of his opportunity and it was just a matter of time before his lack of success caught up to him.
Man United fans should stop pretending that a stint that lacked success deserves celebrating. In short, the action does little to improve anything at the club. The club has since moved on and there is no reason for us to look back at a failed managerial run.
If anything, it incentivizes mediocrity. The fans are certainly divided on the matter. Just which side prevails, in the end, remains to be seen. We now take a look at how some of them reacted to the news on social media.

Tribute for a man who is alive, £7.5m richer and actually failed at his job? 🤨

He’s a nice guy and all, but what has he achieved to get this tribute?

The best tribute they can make is drawing 0-0, with a good ol’ McFred partnership and Sancho on the bench
