Bruno Fernandes raged at the Manchester United fans for booing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following Watford defeat
According to Metro, Bruno Fernandes was seen to be angry with the Manchester United supporters for their reaction towards Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the 4-1 defeat at the hands of Watford in the Premier League.
Man United were firmly beaten on the day as they dropped to seventh in the league in the aftermath. They could fall even further should Tottenham Hotspur and Everton win their game in hand. United will next travel to Villarreal for the Champions League fixture, followed by matches against Chelsea and Arsenal in the league.
The Red Devils went into the halftime break with a 2-0 deficit which was reduced by Donny van de Beek after he came off the bench for Scott McTominay. Harry Magure got shown a red card, and a late rally saw the Hornets increase their lead by scoring two more goals. David de Gea kept the team in the game after saving two penalties where one had to be retaken.
“I think the attitude in the second half was there but in the first half it was too slow from everyone. We don’t tackle, we don’t win our duels and against these teams you have to win that.”
The 27-year-old was seen to be angry at the supporters as they booed Solskjaer when he came up to them to apologise for the poor showing. Fred, who was on the bench today, had to drag him away to prevent further complications. Fernandes analysed the game and gave his verdict in the post-match interview to beIN Sports.
“It’s everyone’s fault. It’s not the coach, one player or two, it’s everyone. Everyone has to take the responsibility because everyone has to do better.”
While players do also deserve their share of the blame, United’s inability to learn tactically from previous experiences continues to be a handicap. The onus of that is on the manager.
