Scott McTominay hands Manchester United an injury boost ahead of the match against Watford
According to the player’s official Instagram account (h/t Manchester Evening News), Scott McTominay has handed Manchester United an injury boost ahead of their game against Watford.
Scotland called up the 24-year-old for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers. However, McTominay suffered an illness and missed out on the games against Moldova and Denmark.
He has been crucial for Scotland during their WC qualifiers but they managed without the United star in both fixtures. The Tartan Army defeated Moldova 2-0 before defeating Denmark by the same score-line on Monday.
Regardless, McTominay’s fitness was the main cause of concern for the Red Devils. The academy graduate has now handed the club a huge boost as he confirmed recently that he has recovered from his illness.
“Tough one to take not being available to help the boys this past week through not being well, but I’ve recovered well and just want to wish the squad the best of luck for tonight.”
This would be positive news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, given the injury issues at the club. Raphael Varane has already been ruled out of action after picking up a knock before the international break.
McTominay has been a regular for the club under Solskjaer. The Norwegian will be glad to have a player he trusts return to action.
