Transfer News: Real Madrid want to sign Manchester United target Franck Kessie from AC Milan
According to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Sports Mole), Premier League team Manchester United will have to battle Spanish giants Real Madrid for the signature of AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
The 24-year-old’s future is up in the air, with his contract at San Siro set to expire next summer and he has reportedly rejected the new contract offer with the Serie A outfit.
The AC Milan midfielder has impressed this season, leading to heightened speculation about his future. Likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the situation for the defensive midfielder.
Both Manchester United and Real are in the market for the midfielder and will be looking to go one on one for Ivory Coast international services.
The Red Devils are struggling in their league and the centre of the midfield is the biggest issue that needs to be solved. Fred and Scott McTominay have been pretty average and there are also question marks over Paul Pogba‘s desire to stay at Old Trafford.
Frenchman’s contract expires next summer and he is also linked to 12-time Champions League winners. Nemanja Matic is also on the wrong side of the 30s and might leave next summer.
Real, on the other hand, are looking for someone to add freshness to their ageing midfield. Madrid have enjoyed the longevity of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro for some time and would want a fresh face in their squad.
