Transfer News: Manchester United keen on landing Leicester City duo Caglar Soyuncu and Youri Tielemans
As per transfer news on Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United are looking to complete deals for Leicester City duo Youri Tielemans & Caglar Soyuncu.
The Red Devils shelled out the cash in the summer as they brought in long-term target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, 4-time Champions League winner Raphael Varane, and arguably the best footballer in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Thus, the investment was sound, although the results could use some work. They remain top of their Champions League group but could improve their performances in the Premier League.
One way of doing so is by bringing in players from your Top 4 rivals. United are planning on doing something along those lines as they are ready to push for deals for both Youri Tielemans & Caglar Soyuncu, who are currently plying their trade at the King Power Stadium.
The duo have been a crucial part of Leicester securing two successive fifth-placed finishes in the last two seasons and winning the FA Cup last campaign. Although the Red Devils recently added to their backline by landing Varane, they could use additional reinforcements.
Eric Bailly & Phil Jones are yet to start a league game this season, and it remains to be seen whether they are a part of this team next season. Thus, in such a scenario, 25-year-old Soyuncu could be an excellent option.

Similarly, there could be some shortages in the midfield line come next summer. Paul Pogba could leave on a free transfer, while Donny van de Beek might exit in January. Nemanja Matic is ageing and shall enter the final year of his contract next summer. The introduction of Tielemans into this side could prove to be crucial.
United must be hoping to compete for titles in the coming seasons, which is only possible through quality players at the peak of their game, like the Turkish centre-back and the Belgian midfielder. However, they will not come cheap, and it will be down to the Red Devils to lure them to Old Trafford by presenting an attractive project.
