PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino still keen on Manchester United job as replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Speaking in an interview (h/t The Express), the Athletic’s Laurie Whitehall has claimed that PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino is still interested in the Manchester United job as a potential replacement to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager joined the Parisians at the start of this year but missed out on the Ligue 1 title and got knocked out by Manchester City in the semi-final of the competition.
Although he is still at the job and now has the opportunity to work with Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr, he could very well jump ship and return to England, where he is currently linked with the United job as Solskjaer faces the pressure at Old Trafford.
The Athletic’s Laurie Whitehall recently revealed (h/t The Express) the Argentinian’s aspirations to still take up the hot seat in the red half of Manchester.
“Part of me thinks Mauricio Pochettino could still happen…Pochettino would, I think, still like the United job. They’ve had dalliances before. Sir Alex Ferguson took him for a meal in 2016.
“He has the motivation and the fire to build something. Obviously, he is at Paris Saint-Germain at the moment but is that a situation he is fully engaged with?.. People will say he’s not won anything as a manager.”

Whitehall also went on to claim that he would be ‘shocked’ if the Old Trafford outfit appointed former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte due to his past record of aggravation with his former clubs.
Regardless, Solskjaer has been entrusted with the job for the while but if the 48-year-old is to be sacked, Pochettino would be a brilliant choice by the hierarchy due to his playing style and previous experience in the Premier League.
