Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals he enjoys the criticism that comes his way ahead of Atalanta clash
Speaking in the pre-match press conference (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that he is not here to fight with anyone amidst recent criticism.
The Norwegian was expected to fight on all fronts this season, especially after recruiting world-class talents in the summer.
Jadon Sancho was one of the most exciting youngsters at Borussia Dortmund last season, while Raphael Varane has continually shown his high-class defensive abilities. The more said about Cristiano Ronaldo, the less. The Portuguese has arguably been the best footballer in the game for over a decade now.
Thus, competing for silverware might have been a foregone conclusion, however, the poor results over the last month have not only opened up Solskjaer to criticism but have also put his job in danger.
However, he gave a befitting reply to all his critics on the weekend as he displayed his tactical nous against Tottenham Hotspur and won 3-0. Solskjaer addressed the topic recently in his pre-match press conference (h/t Manchester Evening News):
“Criticism can make you doubt yourself or you can stand up for yourself. I’ve always enjoyed it, keep it coming. We’ve all got different jobs, and it is their jobs to give their opinion. I am not here to fight with anyone.”

Their upcoming game against Atalanta is certainly a crucial fixture as it could put them in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Moreover, a victory against the Italian side will help the Norwegian prove to his bosses that he is the man to lead United to glory again, while it will also keep the camp in a good mood ahead of their daunting derby against Man City next weekend.
