Manchester United decide against making a move for Antonio Conte
According to Express Sport, Manchester United have decided not to go head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur for the possession of Antonio Conte as they are optimistic about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future at Old Trafford.
After some mediocre performances and a shameful 5-0 defeat against bitter rival Liverpool, Manchester United were heavily linked with Antonio Conte as Solskjaer’s position at the club was called into question.
After a successful spell at Inter Milan, Conte left the Italian club earlier in the summer and is now free to negotiate with any other team. It seems that he would have liked the idea of coaching the Red Devils, and he showed interest in discussing his future with United management.
For the time being, the United management are putting their faith in Solskjaer. The Norwegian delivered a remarkable 3-0 victory against Tottenham that upheld the effectiveness of his tactics. The Manchester United management has decided to drop the idea of a new manager hoping that Ole would be able to give more of such results in the future.
They also supported the United manager throughout the summer window when many questioned whether he was the man for the job.
