Manchester United exit-linked star Paul Pogba eyed in free transfer by Real Madrid
According to Spanish newspaper Marca (h/t Eurosport), Real Madrid are lining up a free transfer for Manchester United star Paul Pogba next summer.
The Frenchman is set to enter the final six months of his contract in January 2022 and unless the Red Devils agree on a new contract for the midfielder, he will be eligible to sign a pre-contract in the winter transfer window and seal a move in the summer.
The United ace has been terrific for the Red Devils this season, laying on seven assists in seven starts for his boyhood club.
Although he was unavailable for the club’s victory against Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend, his contributions at the beginning of the season ensured that the Old Trafford outfit were within touching distance of the top of the table.
Thus, his absence will certainly be felt if he does move next summer. Real Madrid are already plotting a deal for the former Juventus man as they are eyeing Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger and Pogba as their top two targets for next summer.
Moreover, the Spanish club no longer eye the player’s agent, Mino Raiola, as an obstacle either. With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric above the age of 30, the addition of a dynamic midfielder like Pogba could certainly add a lot of quality to the ranks.

However, they are not the only club interested in securing a transfer for the French international next summer. Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on bringing the 2018 World Cup winner back to his hometown, while it was also recently claimed that the 28-year-old’s preferred destination is a return to Juventus.
Regardless, his departure will be a loss for the Old Trafford outfit, who have already accepted that their star man will leave the theatre of dreams next summer.
