Manchester United could consider Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri as potential replacement to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
According to The Mirror (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United could consider the possibility of hiring Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri as a potential replacement to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The 54-year-old has a long history of being successful everywhere he goes, and his team’s playing style at AC Milan and Juventus has been admired by fans of those respective clubs.
His record of winning trophies has also been sound as he lifted multiple Serie A titles during his first tenure in Turin and is now aiming to do so again after he was re-appointed this summer.
However, it looks like the Italian now has suitors in Man United, who have a ‘long-standing’ interest in the experienced coach. The Red Devils have their own problems with their gaffer as Solskjaer looks to turn around the club’s patchy form.
The past month has seen the Old Trafford outfit get knocked out of the EFL Cup, fall out of the Top 6 in the Premier League, and their Champions League hopes are hanging in the balance despite a heroic come-back against Atalanta nearly 10 days ago.
If the Norwegian is sacked in the near future, Allegri could take up the managerial hot seat at the Manchester-based outfit. Fellow countryman Antonio Conte has also been touted to take the job, but it was recently claimed that United’s interest in the former Inter Milan manager has cooled down.

Another name on the list is former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, but the Frenchman is apparently not looking for a job right now.
Regardless, luring Allegri out of Juventus mid-season will be a tough task but if the club do sack Solskjaer and propose an exciting offer to the Italian, things could change soon, and the Red Devils might have a new face at the helm.
