The Glazers shocked over the performances of Manchester United despite mega summer investment

According to 90min.com (h/t Daily Star), The Glazers are ‘shocked’ over the performances of Manchester United despite ploughing in huge money during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have had a tumultuous month that was capped off by a disastrous display against Liverpool last weekend. However, it is the performance against clubs not in the Top 4 that has come into question.

The club has lost to Aston Villa and Leicester City in recent weeks while also drawing to Everton. They were knocked out of the EFL Cup to West Ham while they have also needed late winners against Villarreal and Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League.

The Glazers unhappy with Man United?

The Glazers are now said to be in dismay over the state of the club despite investing heavily in the summer. The signings of Jadon Sancho, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Raphael Varane set the club back by £140million, and this is after giving a new three-year-contract worth £20million to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

However, out of these investments, Ronaldo is probably the only one that has paid off so far, evidenced by his 6 goals in 9 games. Varane, albeit brilliant individually, has not been able to steady the backline and managed only 1 clean sheet in the 7 games he has featured in.

Sancho is yet to find his feet and has not contributed to a single goal in over 11 appearances. Solskjaer was expected to take these players and challenge for a Premier League title but the Norwegian has instead brought the club closer to the bottom half of the table than he has to league leaders Chelsea.

Winning the league title has been a target for the hierarchy as they last won it in 2013. However, with Solskjaer on thin ice at the club and players underperforming under him, it remains to be seen whether the club can turn things around and still compete for the biggest trophies this season.
