Journalist Mark Ogden claims Manchester United have accepted that Paul Pogba will leave on a free transfer next summer
According to the sources of ESPN Journalist Mark Ogden, Manchester United have accepted that Paul Pogba will exit the club on a free transfer at the end of this season.
The midfielder re-signed for the Old Trafford outfit back in 2016 on a club-record transfer fee worth £89million, which stands till today. Over the years, Pogba has produced some mesmerizing performances, but the lack of consistency was always his doom.
However, to his credit, he always showed up when the club needed him. There was a lack of a proper centre-forward in the club at the start of the season and Bruno Fernandes could not take on the mantle of both creating and scoring the goals. Despite his contract uncertainty, the Frenchman showed up and delivered 7 assists in the first four league games of the season.
The French international is now in the final year of his contract, and several clubs are targeting a deal for him, including Real Madrid, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain.
Although they are interested in him, neither club is said to be ready to orchestrate a January move as they would prefer a deal next summer as they would have to pay nothing for his services.
The Manchester-based outfit, in turn, have already made peace with the fact that their superstar could leave on a free transfer next summer.

In fact, it is also believed that the Red Devils ‘factored’ in the possibility that this scenario will happen when they signed the midfielder five years ago.
Regardless, it seems as though it is the end of the road for the Frenchman, and perhaps it will also give United a chance to bring in a young bustling midfielder who can shape their midfield line for the coming years.
