Manchester United ace Raphael Varane could return from injury to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday
According to SunSport, Manchester United star, Raphael Varane stands a chance to make a quick recovery from his injury and face Tottenham Hotspur on the weekend.
The 28-year-old joined the Old Trafford outfit from Real Madrid earlier this summer and was slotted into the team from the third game of the season itself. The Frenchman was forming a good partnership with Harry Maguire at the back before the Englishman suffered an injury against Aston Villa.
To make things worse for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Varane picked an injury during international duty with France, as he lifted the UEFA Nations League trophy. It was later revealed that the centre-back could be out for several weeks.
Thus, this resulted in him missing out on the victory against Atalanta and the heavy defeats to Leicester City and Liverpool. However, in what could be a huge boost for Solskjaer, he could have his star defender back in time to face Tottenham on Saturday, something the Norwegian hinted recently.
It is thought that the French international has been allowed to step up his recovery by the club medics. In fact, he has also started ball-work this week and has been running alongside the conditioning team.
To maintain his fitness levels, the former Madrid man has also started using the bike in the gym and has kept up with his strength work. It is also said that the centre-back is functioning at 70% and should join training along with the squad later this week.

While Varane does stand a chance to face Spurs, it is believed that it is more likely that he will return to face Manchester City instead. The coaches at the club are said to be reluctant to rush the defender into a game, as it could needlessly aggravate his injury.
Regardless, in what initially seemed like a five-week sideline journey for the Frenchman, he has made a quick recovery and would be providing massive help to his manager if he does actually feature on the weekend.
