According to The Athletic (Subscription Required) [h/t The Metro], Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not be sacked and has been allowed to continue by the Manchester United board for the time being.

The Norwegian has gone through an incredibly rough month of football, which has seen his side pick up only 3 victories out of the 9 games. Their position in the league table is also under threat as their defeat to Liverpool kicked them out of the Top 6.

While a meeting was held on Monday to discuss the future of Solskjaer, it has now been decided that the 48-year-old will continue as the manager for the time being.

But it has also been said that Antonio Conte is thought to be ready to take the job if it does become available.

The match against Tottenham Hotspur could be the last straw for the board, if not the following games against Atalanta and Manchester City.

The Red Devils have a complete week off now as compared to their Premier League rivals, who are on EFL Cup duty. But any result besides a victory against Spurs on Saturday could see the club move out of the top half of the table, provided the other results do not favour United.
