Manchester United players low on morale after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer delivers dressing room speech
According to The Times (Subscription Required) [h/t The Metro], the morale of the Manchester United players is at ‘a new low’ while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may not have helped things with his dressing room speech.
The Red Devils are on a downward spiral, and it remains to be seen where their next victory comes from. United have suffered four defeats in their last eight games across all competitions, with the latest loss coming against Leicester City on the weekend.
The Foxes ran Solskjaer’s men to the ground and posed several questions to the Norwegian boss. The defeat must have hit the 48-year-old hard as he delivered a forty-five-minute speech in Leicester’s away dressing room after the game.
He addressed the players for so long that the team bus had to be halted, with all the players waiting ‘impatiently’ for the boss to return after his post-match interviews and media duties.
The morale amongst the players is said to be completely ‘flat’ after the poor string of performances, and Solskjaer’s unloading might not have done anybody any favours. However, if that was not enough, they have some huge games lined up that could make or break this season.
The Red Devils have to face Atalanta twice in the UEFA Champions League while they will also host 2nd placed Liverpool and third-placed Manchester City at Old Trafford. Additionally, they also have to visit North London for a showdown with Tottenham Hotspur at the end of this month.

If the Manchester-based outfit cannot churn out victories in any of these games, they will need to wave goodbye to their Champions League aspirations, while their Premier League hopes could also collapse if their title rivals win all of their games.
The atmosphere surrounding the club is not pleasant at all, and while the board is said to be backing Solskjaer, the former Molde manager will now need to pull off something close to genius if he is to prove to the fans that he is the right man for the job.
