Manchester United urge Marcus Rashford to ‘bulk up’ to prevent further injuries
According to the Daily Mail (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United have urged Marcus Rashford to ‘bulk up’ to cope with the physicality of the Premier League and to prevent further injuries.
The 23-year-old ace was incredibly fruitful for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season as he knocked in 21 goals and laid 15 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions.
Thus, the attacker certainly played a lot of games last season and also feature for the Three Lions at the Euros earlier this summer.
After returning to United’s Carrington complex for pre-season, it was decided that the Englishman shall have to undergo shoulder surgery. Although he has recovered from it now and is expected to make his return against Leicester City this weekend, there are some issues.
The Red Devils want to ensure that the youngster does not suffer any more injuries as he is clearly an important player for them. To that end, they want Rashford to bulk up to cope with the physicality of the Premier League.
During his recovery from his shoulder surgery, the attacker put on 4kg of muscle to his lower body but lost a lot of upper body muscle due to the ‘nature’ of the injury, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Sports Mole).
