Manchester United reveal intentions of recalling Axel Tuanzebe from loan move at Aston Villa amidst injury trouble
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are not considering recalling Axel Tuanzebe from his loan move at Aston Villa despite an injury-hit backline.
The Old Trafford outfit have encountered some patchy form in recent weeks that has seen them getting knocked out of the EFL Cup and losing to Aston Villa in the Premier League. Their last game before the international break was also a draw to Everton at home.
In fact, they are also set to face tough opposition after the international break ends, with Leicester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Man City all ready to take points off United.
Thus, it was not pleasant news when the club had to announce that Raphael Varane will be out for a few weeks. Additionally, Harry Maguire is also a doubt as he is yet to feature in a game since suffering an injury against Aston Villa in the league.
Could United recall Axel Tuanzebe?
Solskjaer’s options besides the star duo are Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, and Phil Jones, with the latter duo not managing to start more than one game this season. The club also have Axel Tuanzebe on loan to Aston Villa, who could be recalled to provide some defensive cover.
The Englishman did well at the back for the Red Devils last season and is a quality option. However, it has now been revealed that the Manchester-based club have no intentions of doing so.
