Team News: Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Eric Bailly return to Manchester United training ahead of Leicester City encounter
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have been handed a huge boost as Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Eric Bailly have returned to training from international duty ahead of Leicester City clash.
Pogba was called up by France for their UEFA Nations League games and excelled in the midfield line. The midfielder was incredibly crucial in orchestrating a come-back against Belgium in the semi-final, while he was at the center of everything good for Les Bleus during the final against Spain as he lifted the trophy.
Lingard, on the other hand, was called by Gareth Southgate for international duty with the Three Lions and featured heavily in the 5-0 victory against Andorra as England got a step further to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. However, the United winger missed the clash against Hungary on Tuesday, which ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Bailly featured in Ivory Coast’s last game against Malawi but failed to feature in the first game nearly a week ago. Regardless, he helped his nation win 2-1 on the day.
However, the trio’s return would be a sight for sore eyes as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to pick up some positive news on the injury front for the club.
Raphael Varane, who played alongside Pogba for France, suffered an injury in the Nations League final and could now be out for a ‘few weeks.’
