Ole’s daughter Karna Solskjaer could make her Manchester United first-team debut today
Football runs in the blood of the Solskajer clan and Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s daughter Karna Solskjaer could be the next member of the family to take to the field.
According to The Daily Mail, the 18-year-old could be handed her debut for Manchester United Women in their Continental Cup game at Durham later tonight.
Karna has been with the club’s women’s academy since 2019. She initially spent time with sides in Norway while Solskajer was at Molde. The teenager followed her father to England when he replaced Jose Moutinho in the Old Trafford hot seat in 2018.
The 18-year-old is a striker just like her father. She caught the headlines after scoring four goals in the academy’s 7-1 win over Bristol last week. It took her tally to eight goals in four games this season.
A doting father, Solskjaer is often seen cheering her on from the stands at the academy’s Moss Lane ground. The Red Devils boss however appears unlikely to witness his daughter’s first step into the big time, should it happen tonight.
United have been drawn in a tough League Cup qualifying group for the Women’s section. They will have to face off against the likes of Manchester City, Everton and Leicester City.
Womens’ team manager Marc Skinner could choose to rotate his side against Championship side Durham, handing Karna an opportunity. Given her hot streak of late, it will be well deserved.

If she does make her debut, Karna will become the second of Solskjaer’s three children to follow in their father’s footsteps as a top-level footballer.
The Norwegian’s eldest son Noah Solskjaer is currently a midfielder for Dogndal Fotball, on loan from Kristiansund BK. He made his senior debut last season against none other than Man United last year. Whether Solskjaer’s youngest son, Elijah will also follow in his sibling’ footsteps remains to be seen.
