Transfer News: Manchester United eyeing a deal for AC Milan ace Franck Kessie and have already made their first move
According to the latest transfer news on Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United are tempting the representative of AC Milan ace Franck Kessie over a potential move.
The 24-year-old has been incredible for the Rossoneri since making his move in 2017. A highly adept midfielder, Kessie has made nearly 200 appearances for the Italian outfit. Last season alone, the central midfielder made 50 appearances and contributed to 20 goals in the process.
However, it might be time for the Ivorian to leave the club as he has less than 12 months on his current deal, while there are also several clubs vying for his signature. Barcelona are the latest club to place him on their radar, according to Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sport Witness).
But it is also said that the player is aware that a number of other clubs are also tempting his representative over a move, but he is in no ‘hurry’ to make a decision.
Amongst these clubs, however, is Manchester United. The Red Devils are unaware about the future of Paul Pogba, as he too, is in the final year of his contract and could leave on a free transfer at the end of this season.
Additionally, Donny van de Beek is being linked with Newcastle United, while Nemanja Matic’s current contract will expire in 2023.

Thus, it would be a clever coup to secure a move for Kessie, especially since he has spent so much time playing at the top level already. Given his age and talent, it would also bode well for the Old Trafford outfit to add him to their ranks.
However, it remains to be seen whether United make a move for him in January or on a free transfer next summer, as AC Milan prepare to search for his replacement.
