Juventus make contact with the entourage of Manchester United star Donny van de Beek
According to Italian publication La Stampa (h/t Manchester Evening News), Italian giants Juventus have made contact with the entourage of Manchester United star Donny van de Beek.
The Dutch international made the move to Old Trafford in 2020 and even scored on his debut. However, it did little to boost his chances of becoming a regular at the Theatre of Dreams.
Van de Beek has made three appearances this season. While two of them have come from the start, United lost both games. Clearly, fortune has not favoured him in red.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had promised the 24-year-old more opportunities, he has failed to come good on his word. Whether Juventus will be the benefactors of the Norwegian’s ‘deception’ remains to be seen.
According to the report, Juventus have gotten in touch with agency PUM, which represents van de Beek. They have outlined their determination to land the player once the transfer window opens in January.
While it remains unclear if the deal in question is a loan or a permanent one, there is little doubt that van de Beek does have options. With his time at United proving futile, one cannot blame him if he chooses to fulfil his potential elsewhere.
The 24-year-old cannot be faulted for a lack of application in training either. In fact, he undertook a conditioning programme this summer to bulk himself up in order to adjust the physicality of the English league. Thanks to Ole, he has had a grand total of six minutes to try his luck this season.

Van de Beek arrived at United as one of the best young talents in Europe. Already a seasoned player with Ajax Amsterdam, he had plenty to offer the club. However, Solskajer has failed to get the best out of him and does not appear to know what to do. A parting of the ways could be the best bet for all parties.
Juventus for their part are looking to rebuild a title-winning side that has fallen off the summit. Van de Beek could very well prove to be an inspired addition to that jigsaw puzzle.
